The North

Chiang Mai is regarded as the capital of the North and the main point for transport to and from other regions. Many travelers say Chiang Mai is the most beautiful and scenic part of Thailand with vast mountain ranges and a wide variety of striking flowers, the countryside is simply fantastic. Tourists who visit this part of the Kingdom often come to relax and get away from things or to join in with one of the many hill tribes to taste some real Northern Thailand culture.  West of Chiang Mai through to Mae Hong Son guides you through some incredible mountain scenery crossing over to Burma.
North of Chiang Mai is its rival town Chiang Rai, when I say rival I mean in terms of beauty, here again you can find some of the most amazing countryside.

Finding you way up to Northern Thailand is pretty easy with the Northern Rail Line and the numerous bus companies who have scheduled routes. Also flights into Chiang Mai are easily available with a few operators to choose from.
